Ford Transit Helps Feed Homeless in Detroit

Ford has a long history with the city of Detroit. This is the city of the company’s birth, and where it produced untold numbers of Ford vehicles. Even now, Ford is returning production, research, and development back to the Windy City. The connection between the company and city goes beyond automotive production; Ford is continuing to invest and help better the lives of the people living there.

Ford and Ford Fund invest heavily into the city of Detroit. In addition to monetary investment, the company also works to give back through education programs. The company also works with non-profit organizations to help benefit the community. One such organization is called The Ark Association.

The Ark Association has provided food and clothing to Detroit’s homeless and hungry population for nearly two decades. With an organization such as this, transportation and movement are key. The association’s vehicle recently broke down, so Ford has provided the organization with a 12-passenger Transit van.

The Ark Association works out of Detroit’s Roosevelt Park in front of Michigan Central Station. Ford has recently acquired the station, and is hoping to further engage in the community, to help bring hope and prosperity to its residents. With the Transit van, The Ark Association can continue its important work feeding the communities citizens in need.
