Without your car, many of the constants that you rely on in your everyday life would grind to a screeching halt. You wouldn't be able to get to work, run your regular errands, grab takeout, or drive your kids to school. Your car is a part of your life that you need to have in place, but it's so much more than just four wheels and an engine. Your car can also elevate your life with its design, features, and functionality, so making the choice on what vehicle you drive is an important one. When shopping for an SUV, you'll find that the competition is very fierce, and the decision can be a difficult one. The 2022 Ford Escape and the 2022 Hyundai Tucson, for example, are similar vehicles, so how do you know which one is the right choice for you? Here are some of the differences between them to help you decide.
Efficiency
A vehicle that's not fuel efficient is really going to make your wallet sting at the gas pump, so gas mileage is always a priority when shopping. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson's mileage comes in at an EPA-estimated 26 city miles per gallon, 33 highway miles per gallon, and 29 combined miles per gallon. The 2022 Ford Escape, however, gets an EPA-estimated 28 city miles per gallon, 34 highway miles per gallon, and 30 combined miles per gallon.
Safety
No matter where or when you're driving, safety and driver assistance features are always an utmost concern in a vehicle to allow you and your passengers to get from Point A to Point B comfortably and confidently. The 2022 Tucson's suite of safety features includes things like Collision Avoidance Assist technology for Forward Collisions, Blind Spot Collisions, Rear Cross-Traffic Collisions, and Reverse Parking Collisions. There is also a Parking Distance Warning, a Blind Spot Monitor, and Lane Keeping Assist.
The 2022 Escape features Ford Co-Pilot 360, Ford's top-of-the-line suite of safety and driver assistance features, the equips the vehicle with things like Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping Assistance, and Automatic High Beams, and additional available features including Active Park Assist 2.0, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, a Rear View Camera, Evasive Steering Assist, and a Voice-Activated Navigation System. With all of this considered, the Escape has more to offer in terms of safety than the Tucson.
Customizability
While your vehicle is first and foremost a functional tool, there is something to be said for the bells and whistles! On the 2022 Escape, you'll find added features for comfort and convenience, like an available Wi-Fi hotspot and an available Head-Up driver display, that are not available on the Tucson. The Escape is also a significantly more customizable vehicle, allowing you to make it your own with three available packages- the SE Sport Appearance Package, the SEL Stealth AWD Package, and the Titanium Elite Package. Conversely, there are only two available customization packages for the Tucson, the Convenience Package and the Premium Package.
With these comparisons in mind, making the choice between the 2022 Hyundai Tucson and the 2022 Ford Escape should be much easier.
