In order to defend the position against the rising competition in the automobile industry, the company has come out with a new version of Escape for the year 2017 which is yet to go on sale.

Engine

The Escape Titanium comes with a new 1.5 L turbocharged four cylinder engine which produces 179 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. The base engine is a 168 hp 4-cylinder, and the most popular one is the 2 L twin turbo four cylinder. The only transmission available is the six speed auto transmission and it also has paddle shifters if you go with the turbocharged engines. Both the turbo engines come with auto start/stop which functions well and can also be turned off if you want to.

This vehicle is loaded with incredible features.

Infotainment

The console and center stack have been redesigned completely giving it a new and improved look. You no longer have the parking brake lever-actuated. There are now enough cubbies on there to accommodate even the most tech-friendly family in the world.

There are a few 12V and USB power points to ensure the devices remain charged and your kids remain occupied so you can drive in peace. Now your spouse of friend can plug in their laptop can make the most use of their time. It does not matter if they are working, watching an episode of 24, or watching Transformers, now you can truly multi-task.

The Sync 3 infotainment system that was developed by Ford itself and was recently updated in 2016 is still pretty quick and intuitive. It now comes standard with all except the base trim. Another new feature is Sync Connect, which is an app that remotely starts connected vehicles, precools or preheats the cabin, checks all fluids and battery levels, etc.

It has been paired with FordPass and is the first step towards a future in which everything from parking reservations to service appointments and purchases at stores could be made using this new portal developed by Ford. It is still not a finished product though and will remain in the development phase for a long time as Ford continues to add more features to it.

Interiors

There is enough cargo space with 34 cubic feet in the back. The rear seats can be folded to create a flat load floor which doubles the storage space. The second row is quite comfortable with a lot of legroom for average height adults. The base Escape can tow as much as 2,000 pounds while the 2 L version with AWD can tow as much as 3,500 pounds.

Exterior

The updates on the exterior makes the Escape look even bigger than the explorer. The boxy taillights and masculine, hexagonal grille have a lot to do with this. The plastic cladding has been added to the liftgate to try and square off the rear end of the Escape, and has also improved the view from the back even though it appears to be attached flimsily.

The chrome finishes are a nice touch, though. The latest version of the Escape looks more modern and more capable than any of the past versions.

Despite what is below the hood, the Escape is quite luxurious from the inside. Even though Ford calls this the fourth-generation Escape, it looks just like a refresh of the 2013 edition. It appears that this version is only going to continue the momentum for Ford's success until they come out with a fresh update.
