At the Geneva Motor Show, they are going to be announcing the 2016 Ford EcoSport along with all of the updates it is going to be acquiring on its exterior, driving dynamics, and equipment.

Exterior

Ford is going to be using their Global B car platform for the EcoSport. The 5 door model is going to weigh something between 1,170 and 1,270 kg. It will run on 15 inch steel wheels or 16 inch alloys depending on which trim level you go for.

The smallest Ford SUV will be 4,254.5 mm long, 1,765.3 mm wide and 1,765.3 mm high. The front fascia's been removed completely and now features a brand new hexagon grille with 3 chrome bars that are quite stylish. The head and tail lights have been redesigned too and will use LED technology. The fog lights are being revamped as well. The car is also going to get a brand new roof rack.

The biggest change with the car, however, has to be that they have finally decided to remove the spare wheel which is otherwise mounted on the tailgate. The license plates will also be moved from the rear end bumper into the tailgate's center. The body's been made from lightweight materials like carbon fiber & aluminum which is going to help improve speed and fuel economy while also reducing weight.

This is not a car you can pull a large boat in, a heavy trailer, or some sort of camper. This is not a car you can four wheeling in and tear up a mountain side. This is not a car that can haul a lot of gear and people. It is a car though that can carry a small family or a couple of adults comfortably in and can handle some nasty weather while making you feel safe.

It is shaped to cut through the wind and escort you smoothly no matter where you want to go.

Interior

There are going to be 3 trim levels, the Trend, Titanium, & Titanium (o). The manufacturer has given the insides of the cabin a futuristic look. The instrument cluster's been redesigned and will have shiny chromed bars. The buttons for the power window have been hooked using chrome tips too. The handbrake lever is being shifted into a position which is more convenient.

Reports show that the Trend & the Titanium trims will get leather seats which are upholstered by fabric or cloth. They are going to make the cabin completely sound proof using thicker sound absorbers. This will be awesome for folks who want to ride across the country side and enable the passengers to sleep comfortably.

The SUV is going to have a 2 row seat arrangement which will easily accommodate 5 adults while having enough space for cargo. As already stated though, it can carry a few people comfortably but it is not one of the largest SUVs around. And the cargo area in the back is not much either but it is ideal for a couple of adults and some gear or a small family and their luggage.

Features

The car will have some really cool features which will make drives more enjoyable. It will get an all-new infotainment system, parking assistance, a rear view camera, heated seats, a heated windscreen, and a SatNav navigation. Some of the other features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 4 inch touch screen display. The airbags and seatbelts will be enhanced for additional safety.

Engine

In the base trim, Ford will probably go with a 1.5 L petrol or diesel engine. The petrol will come with 112 hp and a 5 speed manual transmission. The diesel will produce 90 hp and will come with a 6 speed auto transmission. The higher trims will come with a 1.0 L 3 cylinder EcoBoost turbo charged engine. There is no information regarding fuel economy yet but it should be quite impressive. Let’s hope Ford will surprise us in March.

Even if they do not they never did take a handout from tax payers like GM did who stills owes America billions of dollars. Ford is getting it done on every level! How about a car that flies?!
