Customers in Europe will be allowed to add LSD to their vehicles at the time of purchase while for customers in the United States, the new kit comes as a standout feature in the special limited edition model.

The feature has been capped at just 1,500 with 1,000 going to the US and 500 to Canada. Even the 2018 model of the Focus RS will come with some of the extras which have been requested most commonly, including an interior trim made from carbon fiber, leather wrapped racing seats from Recaro, and a choice between two exclusive paint finishes for the exterior.

Henry Ford, the marketing manager for North America Ford Performance, said that they are very excited about bringing the limited edition vehicle to the continent. He added that they have spent a lot of time listening to what their customers want, speaking with members of owners clubs, reading suggestions and comments on websites, and studying Photoshop renderings.

As for the reason why Ford has decided to go through so much trouble with the 2018 Ford Focus RS, there is only one. This is going to be the last model year for the present generation of the Focus RS as far as North America is concerned. Guess the company has decided to bid farewell to the car in style.
