September is a very important month for Ford, as it marks the Ford Global Caring Month. Throughout the month, Ford employees volunteer their time in order to help others. This is no small matter, as the over the course of the month, employees complete over 325 projects across the globe. In fact, throughout the month, Ford volunteers will complete projects in 38 different countries on six continents.
The goal of Ford Global Caring Month is to make people’s lives better. In order to do this, there has to be some investment. The Ford Fund is donating $700,000 to nonprofits in order to ensure that the projects will move forward. The money will go towards supplying the organizations with the necessary equipment for the projects.
Ford Global Caring Month is orchestrated by the Ford Volunteer Corps. The Corps is dedicated to bettering the lives of others across the world. Ford Global Caring Month is their principal event, and it helps multitudes of people each year.
The volunteers from the Volunteer Corps apply their knowledge and skill to complete the projects set out during the month. In China, the focus of the projects is on benefiting the environment. Volunteers orchestrate community gardening, a beach cleanup, and education of residents on environmental issues. In the Philippines, volunteers work toward constructing clean water facilities that the entire village can use.
