The Ford Hall of Fans is getting ready for another year of celebrating football superfans, and has now introduced the nominees running for induction in 2022. Voting is open from now through February 6th.
When it comes to football, incredible fans are an integral part of the history of the game just as much as any incredible player. Ford has worked with the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the last four football seasons to maintain the Hall of Fans. This is the perfect way to honor and highlight football fans who are known for their amazing loyalty, passion, and character. This year brings with it five fantastic fans who are in the running to join this prestigious club.
Michael Banks was nominated by Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinee Calvin Johnson and has been a season ticket holder for the Detroit Lions for nine years. His parents passed down their love of the Lions to him, and for game days the 51-year-old disabled veteran decorates his vehicle in Lions flags and stays at the stadium through the whole game. When he’s not cheering on the Lions, Banks also donates to the Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program and assists veterans with special needs.
Miguel “Supercowboy,” Castellanos was nominated by Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinee Drew Pearson. Castellanos has been a Cowboys fan since the first Super Bowl he saw in 1993. He dresses up in costume and shows up to each and every home game, often posing for photos with other Cowboys fans. He also makes time in his busy schedule to feed the homeless and support Ronald McDonald House, Toys for Tots, The Salvation Army and March of Dimes.
Jesse Esquibel, known as “Bronco Reaper,” is famous for donning full makeup and costume and making his way throughout the stadium to take pictures with other Broncos fans during games. Esquibel is a survivor of life-threatening complications from West Nile encephalitis, and inspires his fellow fans when he shares his story. Esquibel also takes his Bronco Reaper look on the road to visit children and the elderly in hospitals. He was nominated by Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinee Steve Atwater.
Amy Nolan, nominated by Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinee Michael Strahan, was introduced to her love of the Giants by her late father. She attends every game, including traveling to away games, and when she turned forty, Nolan even threw a tailgate party in her front yard so that she and her loved ones could spend the day cheering for her favorite team. She is the executive director of development at the American Cancer Society, and also takes part in the local Relay for Life walk in honor of her father.
Terrence Young was nominated by Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinee Mike Singletary and has been a Bears fan since he was nine years old, watching Walter Payton play. He hasn’t missed watching a single game in the last 31 years. He’s been proud to share experiences with the Bears such as announcing the team’s fourth-round pick of the 2019 NFL draft live. Young also participates in the Bears Care Gala, which helps raise money for breast and ovarian cancer research.
