More and more American drivers are switching to electric vehicles every day, and the same is true on the commercial side. There’s a slow but steady rise in the amount of businesses using electric vehicles in their commercial fleets, and some fleets are even entirely electric. With this increase in commercial EVs comes a demand for practical charging solutions, and Ford Pro is ready to deliver with a new charging hardware, the latest addition to its lineup of end-to-end solutions for electric commercial vehicles.

“We’re committed to helping businesses make the transition to electric easy with a single-minded focus on curated commercial charging solutions,” said Ted Cannis, Ford Pro CEO. “With our tailored EV consulting and portfolio of charging hardware and software solutions, we can design, implement and operate solutions for Ford and other brands that will last for many years to come. And we are not afraid to tell customers when electrification is not yet a good fit and support them with other solutions.”

The new Ford Pro hardware, a Series 2 AC Charging Station 80 amp with an expanded DC Fast Charger, was designed specifically for commercial use. The charger includes a wide range of useful features, including enhanced security with RFID that limits unwanted charger access, a new LCD screen that displays step-by-step charging instructions, and temperature sensors for safety and efficiency. Alongside Ford Pro’s charging management software, this brand new hardware simplifies charging for Ford commercial EVs as well as non-Ford EVs, creating a fully integrated charging solution.

Ford Pro also has a BEV Fit team that has been offering complimentary consulting to commercial customers throughout this process. Identifying available incentives, making recommendations on charging site design and construction, and collaborating with local utilities on a company’s energy needs can be difficult and time consuming, so the BEV Fit team is available to provide the expert support that a company making the switch to electric requires.

Ford Pro is releasing other charging options as well, including an extended DC Fast Charger in 180kW and 240kW that provides more versatility, more power, and shorter charge times for fleet operators and their drivers. These products work in connection with Ford Pro’s smart charging software, ensuring that the vehicles in a fleet are charged up and ready when needed. This makes it easy for fleet managers to optimize and organize charging, and even takes the stress out of managing utility reimbursement reporting for home-based drivers.

With tools like these, switching a commercial business from gas-powered to electric vehicles has never been easier. If you’re interested in learning more, make sure you check out our new inventory online!
