Haldeman Ford in Hamilton, NJ is proud to announce that Ford will be joining the inaugural gathering of the TED Future Forum at TED's annual global climate conference, TED Countdown, in Detroit from July 11-14, 2023. As one of the 13 founding companies launching the TED Future Forum, Ford will be at the forefront of accelerating solutions to the climate crisis through business innovation.
The TED Countdown Summit will bring together 700 leaders from various sectors, including science, activism, innovation, business, finance, policy, and philanthropy. Hosted at Michigan Central, an innovative hub funded by Ford that addresses the pressing challenges at the intersection of mobility and society, and the historic Fillmore Detroit, the summit will showcase TED Talks highlighting real-world solutions at scale, breakthrough sessions that explore tools and partnerships, and immersive offsite experiences with local innovators.
The TED Future Forum founding companies, including Ford, will work together to identify critical business-focused initiatives that can accelerate climate progress. TED will tell transformational stories of both successes and challenges at events and via TED platforms, inspiring businesses across the economy to action.
The four-day TED event will feature seven mainstage sessions with 40+ TED Talks, interviews, and performances. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in offsite "field" experiences, including visits to state-of-the-art EV and battery production lines and factories upcycling waste, meetings with leaders building the "black to green" economy, climate migrants settling in Michigan, and policymakers working to change the regulatory landscape.
Breakthrough Sessions will provide a platform to scale collaboration, including working sessions on the transition to regenerative agriculture and how we fund climate adaptation, as well as pitch sessions with entrepreneurs who are creating companies to solve the toughest climate problems. Featured themes and areas of focus include the state of science and progress, positive tipping points, adaptive innovation, and bridging divides.
Cynthia Williams, global director of sustainability, homologation, and compliance at Ford Motor Company, expressed her excitement about the TED Future Forum, stating that Ford is committed to building a future for transportation that's more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable.
