One of the most well-known and iconic cars on the road today is the Ford Mustang, and the 60th anniversary celebrations for the car have been nothing short of spectacular! The release of a limited-edition Mustang 60th Anniversary package in the iconic 1967 Brittany Blue color is among the most recent highlights so far of this remarkable year.
The Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package pays tribute to 1965, the car's first model year, by only producing 1,965 vehicles overall. Brittany Blue has now been added to the iconic small batch colors, including Wimbledon White, Race Red, and Vapor Blue, that are available for this anniversary edition Mustang.
“Mustang has thrived for 60 years by taking risks and giving customers something a little bit different, a little bit more special than you’d get elsewhere,” said Joe Bellino, Mustang brand manager. “By dropping a color like this, we’re giving customers a chance to stand out even among the rarefied ranks of Mustang 60th Anniversary owners.”
Only the Fastback body style and 10-speed automatic transmission are available for the 60th anniversary Brittany Blue Mustang. In addition, the car has Brembo brakes, a 3.55 limited-slip rear axle, a 12-speaker B&O sound system, an Active-Valve Performance Exhaust, the 401A package, and Space Gray upholstery. It features unique side graphics in either Iconic Silver or Vermillion Red that are evocative of the Mustang's original rocker panel stripes, as well as 60th anniversary badges on the fenders and trunk lid that are a contemporary spin on the 1965 Mustang cloisonné badges. Along with the silver mirror caps on the Race Red, Vapor Blue, and Brittany Blue models that harken back to the chrome mirrors of vintage Mustangs, the redesigned grille pays homage to the original 1964 model.
To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Mustang, Ford is also launching a new digital instrument cluster design that has ice blue backlights for the cluster details at night and classic white dials during the day, inspired by the 1999 to 2001 Mustang SVT Cobra.
Customers and enthusiasts can view the Brittany Blue Mustang up close at Ford's Mustang Alley Display at the 2024 Woodward Dream Cruise in Ferndale, Michigan.
