The Ford Motor Company Fund, known for decades as the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company, announced today a significant rebranding initiative. Moving forward, it will be known as ‘Ford Philanthropy.’ This change marks an evolution in Ford’s 75-year legacy of making a difference in communities worldwide. With an impressive $2.3 billion in philanthropic contributions since its inception in 1949, Ford Philanthropy reaffirms its unwavering commitment to investing in solutions that address unique community needs.
The strategic rebranding reflects a fresh and modern outlook while emphasizing Ford’s enduring mission to create a better world. Although the name has changed, Ford Philanthropy’s dedication to its community partners, funding model, network of community centers, and focus priorities—such as using Ford’s mobility expertise to expand access to essential services, education for the future workforce, and entrepreneurship—remains steadfast.
“Giving back has been an integral part of Ford’s history and values since the very beginning,” said Mary Culler, president of Ford Philanthropy. “Our rebrand honors our rich history and better reflects our core mission of partnering with communities to help move people forward and upward. Whether we’re connecting families with fresh food, helping neighborhoods rebuild after a disaster, or expanding access to careers in mobility, at Ford Philanthropy, we are passionate about working with our local partners and employee volunteers to help build equity and drive progress in Ford communities around the world.”
In addition to the rebranding efforts, Ford Philanthropy also released its annual Impact Report, showcasing the organization’s achievements over the past year. Key highlights include:
- $73.7 million in philanthropic contributions by Ford Motor Company and Ford Philanthropy
- Direct support provided to 3.5 million people through various partnerships and programs
- Collaborations with 470 nonprofits and community organizations
- 55,000 volunteer hours contributed by Ford employees in 31 countries
Ford Philanthropy’s new identity is more than just a name change; it signifies a continued and deepened commitment to driving positive change. By partnering with local communities and leveraging the expertise of its employees and volunteers, Ford Philanthropy aims to build equity and foster progress in communities around the globe.
As Ford Philanthropy embarks on this new chapter, it remains dedicated to its mission of moving people forward and upward, ensuring that the core values of giving back and community support that have defined Ford for over seven decades continue to thrive. The rebrand is a tribute to the past and a bold step toward a future filled with opportunities to create a lasting impact.
