For a decade, the Ford Ranger has been Europe’s best-selling pickup truck, a remarkable achievement that highlights its continued success in meeting the diverse needs of customers. In 2024, the Ranger achieved a dominant 43.6% market share, making it the top choice for pickup buyers across the continent. This impressive feat marks the tenth consecutive year that Ford’s Ranger has claimed the top spot, underlining its reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation.
In 2024, Ford Pro sold 60,400 Rangers in Europe, a 4% increase from the previous year. Some European markets have even seen growth rates as high as 18.6%, showing that demand for this durable, capable truck continues to rise. The Ranger’s success has been fueled by its versatility. Customers choose the Ranger for its powerful performance, exceptional towing capacity, and robust off-road capabilities, all of which make it the perfect option for a wide range of industries and lifestyles.
Looking ahead, Ford is set to continue this legacy with the introduction of the all-new Ranger PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) in Europe. This new model brings together the best of both worlds—performance and sustainability. Offering a 43 km electric-only driving range and the highest torque of any Ranger to date (697 Nm), the Ranger PHEV promises to elevate the pickup experience even further. Production of the Ranger PHEV is already underway in Silverton, South Africa, with deliveries to Europe slated for spring 2025.
As Hans Schep, General Manager of Ford Pro Europe, puts it, “Ranger’s decade as Europe’s favourite pickup has been built on a deep understanding of our customers and how they use their trucks.” With the Ranger PHEV, Ford is taking that understanding even further, ensuring the next-generation Ranger meets the evolving needs of today’s drivers.
